There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. We are going to have to read on to find out who this John is. This little bit of information about John comes right at the tail end of reading about the Word, could John be the Word? One thing that we see from this text is that John was sent from God. Keep tuning in to find out who John is.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. This is an ancient battle between light and dark, dark and light. Up to this point in time darkness has not been able to overcome the light, which is the life, which is the Word.

1:4

In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The life that the Word had was the life that only God has, which is eternal, indestructible, and depending on nothing or no one for its existence. Our life's on the other hand are temporary, destroyed easily and, depend on this one called the Word and God to sustain our life's.
The life was the light of men is like when the sun shines on my front yard and hits all the dandy lions, they open up to receive nourishment from the sun. When ever this one called the Word was around men, women, and children they opened up to him to receive his light, which is life for the very core of who we are.

1:3

All things where made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. So this person who was and is called the Word must have been pretty powerful. This passage says all things, not some things or most things but all things where made through this person. And to drive the point home the author of this gospel says it again in a different way, that nothing was made without him. So there is not a single creation in all of creation that was made without him. So this person called the Word was according to this passage none other then the creator himself. Psalm 148:3-5 Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the LORD! for he commanded and they were created. Isaiah 42:5 Thus says God, the LORD, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it:

He was in the beginning with God. This here is a restatement that the Word was in the beginning with God. So this Word has been around for a very long time, He just might know somethings that we don't. Genesis 1:1 In the "beginning , God created the heavens and the earth.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. I don't know greek and my english is in desperate need of help, so on that note lets begin. This passage says that this Word was at the beginnig of creation. That this Word was with God at the beginning of creation and that this Word was God. It makes me want to say WOW because this passage says that the Word was with God which makes him seperate from God and then this passage says that the Word was God, not Gods. Another passage I would like to consider is Isaiah 43:10 "You are my witnesses," declares the LORD," and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, Isaiah 44:6 Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts:" I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.
So I'm gona have to say that the Word is God Almighty or these other passages are wrong.

The Gospel of John.

I am going to try and memorize the gospel of John. A few years back I had almost 5 chapters memorized and then I stoped. Well, I'm going to try it again in the E S V version of the bible. I love you Kendra, and miss repeating what I had memorized to you over and over again.

Tired, I should have known.

I couldn't sleep last night and in times past that ment that the Lord was trying to tell me something and I just was not listening. Because when I'm tired, I mean really tired I can't rely on my own strength and have to rely on Gods strength. I got up a little late and didn't have time to sit down and read the bible so I down loaded a sermon by John Piper and read it. His sermon lifted me up and I was able to share it with a few people at work

I love my wife!!!!!

I don't know, actually I do, when I'll stop being so selfish when it comes to my wife. It will be when I am six feet under dirt feeding the worms. The bible comands me to love her as Jesus Christ loves His church. Alls I know is that it is an imposable task without the Holy Spirit helping. And thats not to say that she is not worth it, its to say how fallen I am.
